The MCU is about to get a little rougher around the edges, with the arrival of Thunderbolts* this summer. At this year’s CinemaCon, members of the cast came out on stage to present a behind-the-scenes making-of featurette, which shows some of the amazing stunts showcased in the film. In the featurette, which you can watch below, Florence Pugh’s Black Widow character, Yelena Belova, takes a base jump off the second largest building in the world, located in Malaysia. If you’re afraid of heights, maybe don’t watch the clip below.
We also have a new poster for Thunderbolts*, which features our heroes, looking a bit confused at something, and all clad in black. Well, except for David Harbour’s Red Guardian. Because red is in the name after all.
Here’s the film’s official synopsis from Marvel Studios:
In Thunderbolts* Marvel Studios assembles an unconventional team of antiheroes—Yelena Belova, Bucky Barnes, Red Guardian, Ghost, Taskmaster and John Walker. After finding themselves ensnared in a death trap set by Valentina Allegra de Fontaine, these disillusioned castoffs must embark on a dangerous mission that will force them to confront the darkest corners of their pasts. Will this dysfunctional group tear themselves apart, or find redemption and unite as something much more before it’s too late?
The rest of the Thunderbolts* featurette shows the team doing various stunts. Interestingly enough, we don’t see any signs of “Bob,” a.k.a. the Sentry, in any of these clips. Maybe they are trying to save most of the footage of Lewis Pullman’s all-powerful character for the actual movie. Thunderbolts* stars Florence Pugh, Sebastian Stan, Wyatt Russell, Olga Kurylenko, and Lewis Pullman. It also features Geraldine Viswanathan, Chris Bauer, David Harbour, Hannah John-Kamen, and Julia Louis-Dreyfus. Jake Schreier directs. It arrives in theaters everywhere on May 2. Tickets go on sale Monday, April 7.
