The Simpsons debuted its first Treehouse of Horror Halloween spooktacular on October 25, 1990 during the show’s second season. It then aired a new installment every year until last year. That’s when it aired two. Since the Fox animated series has now been on forever, that’s 36 episodes worth of parodies, jokes, and axes in Willy’s back. That works out to more than 13 hours of television. And this fall, for the first time ever, you’ll be able to watch all those Halloween shorts back-to-back without having to move from your couch. Disney+ has turned its dedicated live stream of The Simpsons into a continuous Treehouse of Terror marathon.
The Hollywood Reporter first reported that Disney+’s Simpsons FAST channel was getting into the Halloween spirit with a running chronological stream of every Treehouse of Terror ever. It’s part of the company’s annual Huluween celebration. Disney also told THR the Treehouse channel will include “a few scary surprises.”
The “Treehouse of Horrors” stream is one of four Disney+ is launching for the season. The others includes a channel for Halloween classics called Hallowstream. The Villains channel will highlight some of the best villains to ever grace the silver screen. And the Waverly Place channel will features programming for “Wizards of all ages.”
The Simpsons‘ Treehouse stream went live today. When you’re done watching more than 13 hours of (not-so-) creepy cartoons you’ll be able to argue with us over our ranking of every Treehouse of Horror episode ever. That’s right. We were watching all of these long before anyone put them together in a convenient little live stream. It was a huge pain. But we did it because we care about you. And also we like watching Treehouse of Horror episodes. We’ve been doing it forever. Now we’ll be doing it in 13 hour intervals.
