Putting tiny screens inside your PC is dumb. That’s my take on it, anyway. But if you want to fill up the inside of your computer with a tiny Times Square of displays covering every component, more power to you (and your bank account). But one Battlefield 6 player decided that the tiny, circular screen on top of their CPU was good enough to play the game—which is impressive, if nothing else.
German tech site AllRound-PC.com was reviewing the MSI CoreLiquid P13 all-in-one CPU cooler, which includes one of the aforementioned screens on top of the combination pump-heat spreader that sits on the processor. And just for scheiße und kichern, they decided to see just how much the 2.1-inch screen could handle in terms of gaming. With a standard USB video connection and 480×480 resolution—albeit with a circular display that cuts off the corners of the game—it’s got a pretty decent resolution, so why not? Aside from, you know, the obvious.
According to the auto-translated audio from YouTube, Tim is “XP farming” on the miniscule screen, which normally just displays a looping GIF, YouTube link, or temperature information. We can’t confirm that the video is 100 percent genuine, but it seems legit enough… if only because it’s exactly the kind of thing we’d do ourselves given the chance.
If you’re wondering, the CoreLiquid P13 comes attached to a 360mm radiator/fan setup and it costs a hefty but not insane $170 USD.
