Marvel’s First Family finally has a launch date for their Disney+ debut. Announced live from SpaceCon 2025 in San Antonio, Marvel Studios revealed The Fantastic Four: First Steps lands on Disney+ on November 5. (It’s already out on 4K disc, btw.) Director Matt Shakman’s movie, which finally brought the iconic Marvel Comics team into the MCU, will also be the latest film available in IMAX Enhanced on Disney+. It features IMAX’s exclusive expanded aspect ratio for all Disney+ subscribers. In anticipation of its release, Marvel has released a video of Ben Grimm/The Thing waiting in the Baxter Building’s kitchen. Waiting very patiently for ten full hours. You can watch it down below:
The Fantastic Four: First Steps stars Pedro Pascal (Mister Fantastic), Vanessa Kirby (Invisible Woman), Joseph Quinn (Human Torch), and Ebon Moss-Bachrach (The Thing). Oh, and H.E.R.B.I.E. the robot, of course, the team’s unofficial fifth member. Rounding out the cast are Ralph Ineson as Galactus and Julia Garner as the Silver Surfer. Yes, James Gunn’s Superman beat the film at the box office this summer. However, The Fantastic Four: First Steps still made $274 million domestically. That’s far more than any of the previous Fantastic Four films. (Yes, even adjusted for inflation.) It was also Marvel Studios’ biggest non-sequel film since Avengers: Endgame.
The entire FF will be back next year, as they are all part of the cast of Avengers: Doomsday. So, for everyone still bummed that Reed Richards didn’t face off against Doctor Doom in First Steps, we have a feeling that confrontation will play out in 2026. Hopefully, after that, Marvel Studios announces a proper sequel for the team, perhaps post-Secret Wars. We’re crossing our fingers for the FF vs. Annihilus. In the meantime, starting on November 5, you’ll be able to watch the team save Earth-828 till your heart’s content.
