Kaiju fans have waited long enough. We now have an official release date for Monarch: Legacy of Monsters season two, now set to drop on Apple TV+ on February 27, 2026. The Monsterverse series also released a new teaser trailer for the highly anticipated second season, showing us more of a rampaging and very ticked-off Kong. The iconic monster appeared in the season one finale in a cameo on Skull Island. But from the look of things, the big ape will have a bigger role to play in the upcoming season. And here’s the official synopsis for the 10-episode second season of Monarch: Legacy of Monsters:
Season two will pick up with the fate of Monarch — and the world — hanging in the balance. The dramatic saga reveals buried secrets that reunite our heroes (and villains) on Kong’s Skull Island, and a new, mysterious village where a mythical Titan rises from the sea. The ripple effects of the past make waves in the present day, blurring the bonds between family, friend and foe — all with the threat of a titan event on the horizon.
The new teaser starts with some surfers in the water, leading us to think we’re about to see some poor victims get eaten, Jaws-style. But this time, the monsters are also on land. Staying out of the water keeps no one safe in this universe. Speaking of the water, what is that undersea kaiju we see destroying the boat? It reminds us of the Kraken from Clash of the Titans. (We don’t expect that particular crossover, though.) Season two of Monarch: Legacy of Monster stars Kurt Russell and Wyatt Russell, both as Lee Shaw in different time periods. Other cast members include Anna Sawai, Kiersey Clemons, Ren Watabe, Mari Yamamoto, Joe Tippett, and Anders Holm.
