Vine Is BACK Thanks to diVine, an App With Archived Content and More Tai Gooden | usagoldmines.com

Almost every single day, I miss the olden days of modern social media. I remember joining Facebook as a college freshman when you had to have a college email to be on the platform. People were just chatting, vibing, and posting funny things on Twitter and Tumblr. No one was trying to go viral or be some mega influencer and there weren’t ads and AI content every five seconds. And Vine was the place to be for entertaining and quick video bites. Sadly, the looping video platform ceased way back in 2016. But there’s good news, my friends. There’s a new app called diVine that’s bringing Vine back with archived content, and Twitter co-founder Jack Dorsey is backing it. The app is the creation of Evan Henshaw-Plath, an early Twitter employee who goes by the name Rabble.

According to TechCrunch, the diVine app will have more than just old content. It will also let you create a new profile and upload Vine videos. And, in an effort to fight against the constant barrage of AI content, diVine will flag content that is suspected to be generative AI and keep it from being posted. Cheers, we can watch real people post real and fun things again just for the heck of it. Dorsey’s nonprofit “and Other Stuff” helped to finance this new Vine inspired app.

“So basically, I’m like, can we do something that’s kind of nostalgic?” Rabble said to TechCrunch. “Can we do something that takes us back, that lets us see those old things, but also lets us see an era of social media where you could either have control of your algorithms, or you could choose who you follow, and it’s just your feed, and where you know that it’s a real person that recorded the video?”

I love this so much. diVine is ready to bring back old Vine content and let you create more right now. The app is available for iOS and Android users.
