Listen, it’s not every day that Dudley Dursley and Eric Northman get together to make a kinky movie. But today, today is that day. And honestly, we are seated. The very sexy trailer for Pillion made us blush a little bit, but what we liked the most about it was the current of sweetness that runs through it. We are very supportive of whatever your desires are here at Nerdist. And we love to see queer folks getting to have some fun on main at the movies and other screens. And hey, as long as Harry Melling’s Colin can voice that he’s happy but could be happier and Alexander Skarsgård’s Ray is listening, then we declare their dom and sub relationship safe, sane, and delightful. Although we would suggest that Ray be a little more polite to Colin’s mother. Unless she’s meddling for no reason, in which case, go forth and snark. You can watch the trailer for Pillion below and giggle and gasp yourself.
To go along with its first trailer, A24 has also released the synopsis for Pillion, and it’s short and sweet. It reads, “A timid man is swept off his feet when an enigmatic, impossibly handsome biker takes him on as his submissive.” I mean, may every timid man’s dreams come true in such a fashion.
As we said before, what stood out to us about this Pillion trailer is how delightfully earnest it is. Yes, there’s kink and collars and some sexy, sexy stuff. But, the real heart of the relationship is clear. The look on Colin’s face as he tells Ray that he can do “Whatever you want, really?” is pure joy. We love it. And we bet we’ll see both Colin and Ray get a lot out of it. And we are happy for them. And happy for us, because there’s nothing we love seeing on our screens more than some pure gay fabulousness. Like we said, this might not be exactly what we expected, but we’re not kicking it out of bed.
Also, we do find it hilarious that the Pillion trailer chose Tiffany’s “I Think We’re Alone Now” as background music. Stranger Things recently popularized the song in its final season. Bylers, could this be for you?
In any case, we support queer movies, and you should too. Get out there and watch Pillion in theaters when it releases on February 6, 2026.
