Tension is RISING on Apple TV’s cerebral and gorgeous series Drops of God. Season two is airing now and the stakes have risen higher than ever before. Camille and Issei are back with a new challenge before them: to find the greatest wine in the world. A wine so incredibly divine, it’s believed to be the nectar of the gods themselves. And this quest is going to change them. And already, we can feel the heaviness of the task weighing on both their shoulders… and coming between them. But will the search for the world’s most important wine bring the two siblings closer together or tear their fragile bonds? Well, it’s hard to say, but if our exclusive clip from Drops of God season two, episode two is anything to go by, the relationship is already being tested. Issei claims he didn’t intend to follow up on this new clue without Camille, but does he mean it? We’d like to think so. But Drops of God season two star Fleur Geffrier’s words to Nerdist about the pair’s journey have us slightly worried, “Camille thinks Issei wants to have her with him on the quest. She doesn’t see the entire picture, though. And so she thinks she’s going to help him. She’s wrong. And yeah, this quest will be a bit, I don’t want to spoil too much, but destructive at the beginning. She’s got this feeling like, “We shouldn’t do that.” I think it’s a disquiet.” And we certainly sense that tension between them in this exclusive clip.
But as Tomohisa Yamashita shares, “I think a theme of season two is forgiveness, especially in the family situation. It’s sometimes the most difficult thing to do in life, but without forgiveness, none of them can be truly happy. So I hope that Issei and Camille find their way and a solution.” And we hope so too, because we’re not sure we like where this road is going for the pair.
And the official synopsis for Drops of God season two, episode two, “The Bottle,” does nothing to soothe our nerves. It shares, “Camille races against time to recover a crucial clue about the mysterious wine, while Issei struggles with the aftermath of his near-death experience. As Camille follows a new lead, tensions rise between them, forcing Camille to make a drastic decision.“
But as at odds as Camille and Issei are in this Drops of God sneak peek, we have to admit, the chemistry between them is undeniable.
