The latest trailer for One Piece: Into the Grand Line gave fans their best look yet at the deadly adversaries Luffy and his crew will be facing on this voyage: the bizarre and powerful agents of Baroque Works.
While some fans may remember their teased presence in the first season of Netflix’s live-action One Piece, the shadowy organization of bounty-hunting assassins will take center stage as the show’s primary antagonists for seasons two and three. But who are the Baroque Works agents, exactly? Join us as we dive deep into the organization and its assassins, drawing on knowledge from the manga and anime. But worry not, this is a spoiler-free guide to One Piece‘s Baroque Works and its members, so we’ll give you only as much information as it seems like the live-action series will in its upcoming seasons. Of course, since we are diving into the source material, you will likely learn new details, so enter these deep waters at your own peril.
What Is The Baroque Works Criminal Syndicate on One Piece?

In short, the Baroque Works Criminal Syndicate is an organization of assassins on One Piece. As shared in our previous article about One Piece, “The Baroque Works agents are a dangerous and formidable secret society of assassins, many of whom hold the powers of the Devil Fruit. They use code names with numbers and days to obscure their identities. And they seem to answer to a very mysterious head honcho.”
The Baroque Works Member Hierarchy on One Piece
It turns out that the Baroque Works agents in One Piece have a fairly hierarchical structure. The most powerful members of Baroque Works sit at the very top. Agents who are men have a number as their codename, which indicates their rank in the Baroque Works organization. Agents with lower-numbered names are powerful, starting with Mr. 0, Mr. 1, Mr. 2, etc. Meanwhile, the codenames for women agents are all holidays and do not follow any apparent ranking pattern. On One Piece, each Baroque Works team has one number agent and one holiday agent working together in teams of two.
The Agents of Baroque Works are Separated by Power
The Baroque Works agents are further separated into Officer Agents and Frontier Agents on One Piece. The Officer Agents are the teams of Mr. 1 through Mr. 5; they are the most powerful and almost all have Devil Fruit powers. Frontier Agents, meanwhile, are the assassin teams of Mr. 6 through Mr. 12. They are seen as less important and less powerful teams by the organization.
At the very top of One Piece‘s Baroque Works criminal syndicate is the President, Mr. 0, and the Vice President, Miss All Sunday. At the very bottom of the Baroque Works organization are hundreds of titleless bounty hunters and mercenaries who work for it, many of whom hope to snag an agent/officer position someday.
What Does Baroque Works Want on One Piece?
But what does this organization of elite criminals and assassins want on One Piece? Well, it would be too spoilery to tell you in full. But suffice to say, Baroque Works wants more than just to cause chaos for chaos’ sake.
What Manga and Anime Arcs will Appear on One Piece Season 2 and 3?
Baroque Works and its members appear throughout One Piece‘s arcs, and different stories reveal different parts of these characters. So far, we know thanks to the marketing for Netflix’s live-action One Piece that we’ll see the Lougetown, Reverse Mountain, Whiskey Peak, Little Garden, and Drum Island arcs in season two. Meanwhile, One Piece‘s beloved Alabasta Arc will come to life in season three. We’ll tell you about the Baroque Work agents accordingly below, teasing but not spoiling what awaits in the above.

Every Major Baroque Work Member, Their Powers, and What We Need to Know About Them Before One Piece Season 2
The President of One Piece‘s Baroque Works: Mr. 0

Starting at the top and without giving too much away, Baroque Works is the brainchild of Mr. 0. While his intentions won’t be revealed until later, all fans need to know is that he has banded together a collection of the world’s most powerful assassins to serve his mysterious scheme. Think of him like the Tony Soprano of One Piece.
We know that, as far as live-action One Piece season two is concerned, Joe Manganiello has been cast as Mr. 0. But, if the anime and manga are anything to go by, fans may have to wait until live-action One Piece season three to properly meet the menacing brains behind Baroque Works in the Alabasta arc or the series.
The Vice President of Baroque Works: Miss All Sunday

While Mr. 0 will likely be waiting in the wings in season two of Netflix’s live-action One Piece, his right-hand woman, Miss All Sunday, will be very much in the lurch in the battle against the Straw Hats this season. Baroque Works’ Miss All Sunday will be played by Lera Abova on One Piece season two.
Armed with the power of the Hana-Hana no Mi Devil Fruit, Miss All Sunday possesses the ability to sprout endless copies of her limbs across any surface in her proximity. This makes her powers both versatile and dangerous. However, fans can expect more from this Baroque Works baddie than meets the eye as the live-action One Piece series progresses into more story arcs from the anime and manga.
Mr. 1 & Miss Doublefinger Are Waiting in the Wings

Mr. 1 and Miss Doublefinger are a pair of high-ranking members in Baroque Works who will, unfortunately, be absent from the events of One Piece season two. However, the duo will reportedly be played by Awdo Awdo and Daisy Head, respectively, on One Piece season three.
Without giving too much away, both these Baroque Works members possess powerful Devil Fruit powers that will make them a deadly threat to the Straw Hats when they arrive in Alabasta.
Fan-Favorite Baroque Works Agent, Mr. 2 Bon Clay, Will Arrive in One Piece Season 3

Another high-ranking agent, Mr. 2 Bon Clay, is a fan-favorite character who will be making their debut in season 3, along with the rest of the top-ranked members of Baroque Works. They will be portrayed by nonbinary actor Cole Escola when the ballet-inspired assassin crosses paths with Luffy next season. Notably, Mr. 2 Bon Clay has both a number and a holiday in their Baroque Works codename.
Mr. 3’s Is One of the Highest-Ranked Baroque Works Members in One Piece Season 2

Outside of Miss All Sunday, Mr. 3 will be the highest-ranking agent the Straw Hats encounter on their journey in One Piece season two. Played by David Dasmalchien, Mr. 3 will serve as the primary antagonist of the Little Garden arc, where his Doru-Doru no Mi Devil Fruit provides a devastating threat, allowing him to create and control candle wax to eliminate his enemies. Mr. 3 can manipulate wax that is liquid or solid. And when Mr. 3’s wax hardens, it becomes as sharp as any blade and is said to be stronger than steel.
Miss Goldenweek Does Not Have a Devil Fruit, But She Is SCARY

Paired perfectly with Mr. 3 on One Piece is his Baroque Works partner, Miss Goldenweek, who will be portrayed by Sophia Anne Caruso on season two of the live-action. While Miss Goldenweek lacks a Devil Fruit, she does possess a powerful mastery of hypnosis, utilizing her various colors of paint to control and neutralize her opponents. Depending on what color paint Miss Goldenweek reaches for, she can alter the actualy personality of her mark. While Miss Goldenweek appears childlike and innocent, she is anything but in One Piece‘s Little Garden arc.
Mr. 5’s Power Is Explosively Yucky

Played by Camrus Johnson on One Piece season two, Mr. 5 will join the fight against the Straw Hats in season 2 in both Whiskey Peak and Little Garden. Armed with an explosive Devil Fruit, the Bomu-Bomu no Mi, Mr. 5 has the ability to turn any part of his body into an explosive weapon. His primary weapon of choice? Boogers.
Miss Valentine Can Float and Crush

Joining Mr. 5 is his Baroque Works partner, Miss Valentine, who will be played by Jazzara Jaslyn on One Piece season two. Like Mr. 5, Miss Valentine possesses a powerful Devil Fruit, hers being the Kiro-Kiro no Mi. This fruit grants her the ability to instantly fluctuate her body weight from light as a feather to a 10,000-kilogram projectile. This allows her to float around with her umbrella before tactically crushing her enemies from above.
Mr. 7 Is the First Baroque Works Agent We Ever Met on Live-Action One Piece
Mr. 7 is actually the first Baroque Works agent we ever met on live-action One Piece. In One Piece season one, Mr. 7 comes to recruit Zoro to the Baroque Works organization. But Zoro turns him down flat and makes his point by cutting him in half. This is something we actually only hear about in the One Piece manga, but the live-action brings it to our screens. Of course, just because one Mr. 7 is gone doesn’t mean another won’t rise to take his place. Mr. 7 is only a codename after all.
Mr. 8 Is a Baroque Works Member Lurking in Whiskey Peak on One Piece

Played by Yonda Thomas on One Piece season two, Mr. 8 is a lower-level member of Baroque Works, but is the leader of the organization’s presence on Whiskey Peak. Though lacking a Devil Fruit, Mr. 8 is still a formidable foe, utilizing a variety of hidden weapons within his welcoming facade. Without giving too much away, however, Baroque Works’ Mr. 8 will prove to be a more significant figure than he may initially appear as the story unfolds in One Piece.
Will Miss Monday Appear on One Piece Season 2?

While we have no casting yet, Mr. 8 is paired with another member of Baroque Works named Miss Monday in the One Piece anime and manga. It’s unclear whether her role will be cut from the live-action series at this point––season one saw plenty of notable side characters absent from the East Blue Saga. But keep your eyes peeled for a suspiciously muscular-looking nun on Whiskey Peak on One Piece season two, just in case.
Mr. 9 Is Part of the Team Rocket of Baroque Works Agents

The first members of Baroque Works the Straw Hats will encounter in One Piece season two are likely Mr. 9 and his partner Miss Wednesday. The pair are less a threat, and more… One Piece’s version of Team Rocket. Mr. 9, played by Daniel Lasker, is a fairly weak member of Baroque Works. As mentioned, he’s at the rank of a Frontier Agent. However, his importance comes more from his association with Miss Wednesday. Miss Wednesday and Mr. 9 will appear in the series’ Reverse Mountain arc.
Mr. 9 does not have any Devil Fruit powers, but makes use of his acrobatic skills and a pair of baseball bats to fight.
Baroque Works’ Miss Wednesday Has Hidden Depths

Without giving too much away, Miss Wednesday is more than meets the eye. Portrayed by Charithra Chandran on One Piece season two, the low-ranking Baroque Works member is the partner of Mr. 9 appears to be equally unimportant and laughable on One Piece, but as her story becomes enmeshed with the Straw Hats, fans can expect something much more significant hidden within.
Miss Wednesday is a Baroque Works agent that does not have any Devil Fruit powers, but as we’ve written before, her favorite weapons are the Kujakki (Peacock) Slashers, “which are small, sharp discs attached to wires that Miss Wednesday skillfully flings, cuts, and catches with.”
Other Baroque Works Agents We Might See in the Future of the One Piece Live-Action Series
Of course, fans will notice that some numbers and holidays are missing from the above list. That’s because some Baroque Works agents, such as Mr. 4 and Miss Merry Christmas, don’t truly appear until the Alabasta arc. Meanwhile, others simply have very small roles, such as Mr. 11. Furthermore, some Baroque Works members have only been mentioned in One Piece‘s manga and anime, but they have never actually appeared in person. These include: Mr. 6, Miss Mother’s Day, Mr. 10, Miss Tuesday, Miss Thursday, Mr. 12, and Miss Saturday. Still, the live-action adaptation of One Piece could be a great place to bring these Baroque Works agents to life for the very first time.
The Unluckies (Mr. 13 & Miss Friday)

Finally, we have to talk about one of the standout moments of One Piece season two’s trailer: the introduction of Baroque Works’ arguably most bizarre members, The Unluckies. Formally known as Mr. 13 and Miss Friday, the pair are essentially the eyes and ears of the organization, and likewise deal with any loose ends within Baroque Works. And yes, these Baroque Works agents are in fact a pajamas wearing otter and vulture in sunglasses. Welcome to One Piece, baby.
It only gets weirder and more wonderful from here.
One Piece Season 2 Will Be Full of Baroque Works Members
One Piece season two releases on March 10. And Baroque Works and its agents promise to be the season’s main villains.
