All good things must come to an end. Unless you’re talking about eternal life in Paradise. Then it just goes on forever. But, despite its holy connections, Good Omens is coming to an end on Prime Video. The show’s third and final season, which will be just one 90-minute episode, will conclude the timeless love story of Aziraphale and Crowley. And we know the time that conclusion will happen. The streaming site announced Good Omens‘ season three May release date with a new behind-the-scenes teaser that also reopens our favorite angel-run book store.
A. Z. FELL & Co. is ready to welcome back customers and viewers alike. Prime Video’s new teaser trailer for Good Omens season three reveals the show will return for its final goodbye on May 13, 2026. It will conclude a tale that dates back to the beginning of the universe itself. This May, we’ll finally see if obvious soul mates Aziraphale and Crowley will find their way back to each other after the angel seemingly ruined their chance at happiness in the show’s season two finale.
When the show does premiere this spring, we won’t have to wait long to find out. Season three will just consist of one 90-minute episode rather than an entire season like the first two. The change came after showrunner, executive producer, writer, and the novel’s co-writer Neil Gaiman was accused of sexual assault. Prime Video announced the significantly shorter ending after Gaiman stepped away from the show.
The series finale will adapt the storyline Gaiman and the late Terry Pratchett had planned for a Good Omens sequel novel. Gaiman worked on the final season before he departed from production of Good Omens season three. However, he was not involved in any capacity after leaving the show. That includes not being on set during filming.
Good Omens, a book with two co-authors, has never been about just one person. And a lot of talented, dedicated people have brought this story to life on Prime Video. We’re glad they got to say goodbye to the show so that we can, too. As mentioned Good Omens season three will release on May 13, 2026.
