Bob Odenkirk Arrives Guns A-Blazing in NORMAL Trailer Sarah Campbell | usagoldmines.com

Bob Odenkirk is pretty much always just a regular guy who can’t catch a break. It’s his bread and butter. This morning, Magnolia Pictures released a thrilling new trailer for Normal, the Nobody actor’s latest action-packed team-up with John Wick creator Derek Kolstad. Odenkirk fires on all cylinders, guns blazing in an explosion of heated glory. Despite what the title suggests, the quaint, little town of Normal, Minnesota is anything but. Watch the trailer for the bullet-riddled bonanza here.

The Normal trailer follows a short teaser we got back in December. It’s intense, violent, and we love to see it. Odenkirk is a small-town sheriff. A regular guy. The average joe turns into a big-time action hero when a robbery-gone-wrong pits him up against a dangerous criminal conspiracy. The extended look at the action flick starts off slower, almost melancholy. It picks up tenfold in a fast-paced display of violence. Guns blazing, massive explosions, the whole shebang. And it wouldn’t be a Bob Odenkirk movie without a menacing one-liner or two: “I say we play the hand that’s been dealt to all of us, and maybe you get to keep the rest of your Goddamn fingers,” he delivers.

Starring alongside Odenkirk in the crime thriller are Henry Winkler and Lena Headey. Ben Wheatley (Kill List; Meg 2: The Trench) directs, while Odenkirk, Kolstad, and Marc Provissiero produce. The film’s official synopsis is as follows:

For Sheriff Ulysses (Bob Odenkirk), his provisional posting to the quaint Midwestern American town of Normal was meant to be a welcome respite from both his marital woes and recent moral injuries in the line of duty. But when a botched bank robbery interrupts the municipality’s tranquil pace, a sordid secret is inadvertently exposed and Ulysses learns that the town is anything but its namesake. Suddenly everyone is trying to shoot the sheriff, even his own deputies, and our put-upon policeman must rely on his affable mettle and some motley crooks if he is to survive the night.

Without knowing what the movie is, the trailer almost feels like it could be an extension of the Nobody franchise. Between an action-packed whirlwind of violence and Bob Odenkirk just trying to be a normal guy, it fits the bill. Normal arrives in theaters, guns blazing, on April 17.
