Anime keeps getting better. From music to animation, the best series reel viewers in and keep them talking about what’s to come. With spring here, despite winter’s refusal to release some states from its icy grip, there is a lot to choose from. Having trouble choosing? No problem! Here’s a list of some new and returning anime to add to your rotation in Spring 2026.
Daemons of the Shadow Realm
If you’re a fan of Fullmetal Alchemist and Fullmetal Alchemist Brotherhood (widely considered the more faithful adaptation to the manga source material written by Hiromu Arakawa), then it’s time to rejoice! Bones Film animates this new series, penned by Arakawa, which follows twin siblings Yuru and Asa, who were separated as kids. In this unique world where some humans can control powerful supernatural beings known as Daemons, it is the twins’ unknown birthright to rule over them. But they have quite the fight ahead of them to find each other and save the world.

Kirio Fan Club

Sounding more comedy than romance, Kirio Fan Club takes a love rivalry in another direction. Aimi and Nami are teenage girls with one similarity: they like the same boy. This leads to meaningful questions meant to prove who loves Kirio more, farts and all. As they grow closer, they start to question whether Kirio matters more than their friendship. Showing the obsessive, oftentimes nonsensical sentiments of young love, look for this when it comes out soon.

Needy Girl Overdose
The trailer for Needy Girl Overdose feels like an anime version of a Black Mirror episode meets the competitive nature of To Be X. In this world, likes are currency, and OMGkawaiiAngel—aka KAngel—wants to become the “Internet Angel.” But there’s more underneath her bubbly exterior. The trailer looks both manically upbeat and sonically creepy.

Witch Hat Atelier
Based on the popular manga, Witch Hat Atelier is a magical fantasy series where witches, the only ones who can perform magic, must ensure regular people do not see them. When a child named Coco, who loves magic, discovers the “absolute secret” from a visiting young witch named Qifrey, she becomes his apprentice. Within the trailer, the animation has all the vibrancy and color that is essential to a stunning, magical series based on an award-winning manga. This witchy anime journey is one we cannot wait to explore in Spring 2026.

Liar Game
Honestly, if you’ve ever watched an Among Us stream, these are the games that end friendships. Liar Game follows Nao Kanzaki, who receives a letter informing her she’s been selected to participate in this game, and a suitcase with 100 million yen. As quitting has serious repercussions, Nao seeks help from a former con artist, Shinichi Akiyama. But with lies being the literal name of the game, does honest Nao even stand a chance? This looks like psychological hell, and I’m here for it when it begins on April 6th.

The Drops of God
The world of wine-tasting gets an anime with this new series. After a wine critic, Toyotaka Kanzaki, passes away, he promises the inheritance to whoever between his son, Shizuku Kanzaki, and his adopted son, a young critic named Issei Tomine, can name the brand and year of the 12 greatest wines he selected, along with a legendary wine dubbed “Drops of God.” The teaser gives little away, but poses the question “What is wine?” We’ll find out once the series begins. But I’m guessing some training montage for wine-tasting at some point!
When & Where to Watch: April 10 on Crunchyroll
Petals of Reincarnation
With this premise, here’s a series that’s either going to be amazing or awful. After all, it centers around reincarnation, people known as ‘Returners.’ But the kicker is, they are reincarnations of famous historical figures. Touya is a kid who lives in his deceased older brother’s shadow until he meets transfer student and ‘Returner,’ Haito. ‘Returners’ can use the “Branch of Reincarnation” to call forth abilities and strengths from their former life into the present.
But as its reincarnation, not everyone uses their talents for good. Some of the reincarnated people watchers get to see are Newton, Einstein, and…Hitler?! Plus, some characters have a striking resemblance to ones from other anime. Like I said, either amazing or awful.

I Want to End This Love Game
If Kaguya-sama: Love is War began with mutual confessions of love and the name of the game is to rile your opponent, that would be I Want to End This Love Game. Childhood friends Yukiya and Miku always play this game. But as they enter high school, their real feelings are much closer to the surface. Will either have the strength to confess? The trailer looks promising as both get easily flustered when in proximity to each other. This rom-com is a perfect addition to the Spring 2026 anime lineup that we are ready to watch.

Marriagetoxin
Elite assassin, poison master, and heir to one of the five great families, Hikaru Gero, decides to find a bride after his sister gets pressured to produce an heir. The issue is that Hikaru is awkward with next to no social skills when wooing women. With a trailer that gives more outlandish Midori Days vibes, this looks to be hilarious. Can never go wrong with an adorable and awkward assassin.
When & Where to Watch: April 7 on Crunchyroll
Akane-banashi
Akane-banashi follows Akane Osaki as she strives to reach the highest rank in rakugo (traditional Japanese storytelling) to avenge her father, who was expelled from the profession years ago. The animation style is compelling and makes the world of rakugo feel strife with danger and peril around every corner. According to Twitter, or X, the official Akane-banashi account says it will upload the anime in multiple languages for free on its YouTube channel. Look for it in April!

Classroom of the Elite (Season 4)
There is never a dull moment in this series of high school intrigue where the stakes are far higher. Now that they’re sophomores, they must compete against the years they’re wedged between—first-year and third-year students. With a white room assassin in pursuit of Ayanokoji, it’ll take all his skill to remain a step ahead, and he plans to go all out. Between surviving this elite cutthroat school and avoiding expulsion, he’s got his work cut out for him—as do his classmates. This school gives survival of the fittest a whole new meaning. Classroom of the Elite Season 4 Second Year First Term starts soon.

Farming Life in Another World (Season 2)
Maybe fast-paced action isn’t your cup of tea. Or maybe you just need a comforting, slow-life show to unwind with. If so, then rest easy because Farming Life in Another World returns for its second season. In this relaxing isekai, Hiraku uses his “almighty farming tool” to transform the forest into a hub of civilization.

Devil May Cry (Season 2)
While it’s coming a bit later in the spring season, do not discount the second season of Devil May Cry. The rivalry between Dante and his twin brother Vergil heats up. The teaser shows their swords clashing as Dante vows to bring his brother back. The teaser mixes their current fight with flashes from their childhood, when they traded blows with sticks rather than swords. It looks to be a fiery addition to the series.
