No matter how quiet or serene a suburban neighborhood might feel, there’s always a darkness lurking underneath. Unfortunately for the denizens of this one, something much worse is going to upend their lives in The End of Oak Street. The darkness on this street is neither hidden or lurking. It’s large, loud, and full of teeth—dinosaurs. The sci-fi film’s new trailer shows what happens when an entire community gets inexplicably transported to a prehistoric world. Nerdist‘s Take on The End of Oak Street Trailer
If I had a nickel for every time I suddenly found my home magically moved to a jurassic forest….
I mean, I’d have zero. (I did come home to a gaggle of turkeys once, but that’s very different.) I’m certainly happy to pay many nickels to see what happens to this family. This The End of Oak trailer feels like a Twilight Zone episode crossed with Jurassic Park. That’s a great premise. This film, from writer-director David Robert Mitchell (It Follows, Under the Silver Lake) stars Anne Hathaway and Ewan McGregor. Maisy Stella and Christian Convery also star as the family’s kids. Ultimately, this The End of Oak Street trailer has us looking forward to the film.
Considering this is a Bad Robot film produced by J.J. Abrams, there’s an obvious question to ask: Is this a new secret Cloverfield movie? The evidence in favor is obvious. Strange events + man-eating creatures. But these look like pretty straightforward, traditional dinosaurs. Do they count as “monsters” in the Cloverfield franchise?

After a mysterious cosmic event rips Oak Street from suburbia and transports their neighborhood to someplace unknown, the Platt family soon discovers that their very survival depends on them sticking together as they navigate their now unrecognizable surroundings.
The End of Oak Street Release Date
I guess we’ll find out when The End of Oak Street debuts in theaters and IMAX later this summer. It will transport guests to this dino-meal/survival flick on August 14.
