Ask Copilot why your PC is slow. It might actually have a real answer | usagoldmines.com

Microsoft has begun testing a new “PC Insights” feature in Copilot for Windows 11 that helps users analyze their computer’s performance and answer questions about the system’s status, reports Windows Latest.

With the user’s permission, Copilot can now analyze CPU and memory usage, available storage space, graphics card details, connected USB devices, network status, battery health, and BIOS version.

The idea is that users will be able to ask direct questions about their hardware, to which Copilot can respond based on the computer’s actual current status. However, PC Insights can only read and analyze information—it can’t automatically resolve issues for you.

On this support page, Microsoft says the feature is ‘experimental” and “opt-in,” that “Copilot only accesses information after you give permission,” and that “your personal files and system info aren’t stored or used to train [AI] models.”

However, “Copilot may use conversation activity […] to improve the experience, including training AI models, depending on your settings. You can control this at any time in Copilot settings.”

PC Insights is currently being made available via gradual rollout, so you may not have access to it yet. Microsoft also warns that since PC Insights is still in experimental development, it “may not always provide complete or accurate information.”
