Google is launching its own AirTag competitor this year and it’s called the Pixel Tag. This new device works within the Google Find Hub and will be a proper Android option for finding lost items, like your keys, wallet, or luggage.
The Pixel Tag is IP67 water and dust resistant, has a built-in speaker, is made of durable stainless steel, and comes with a battery that can last up to one year. You can also easily replace that battery (CR2032) yourself.
Should you buy a Pixel Tag, you’ll set it up with Google Fast Pair, connect and label it within Find Hub, and can share it with up to 10 people for shared item finding. It also works in reverse, so if you lose your phone, you can click the Pixel Tag’s button to locate it.
The Pixel Tag utilizes both Bluetooth and Ultra-Wideband (UWB) for location and will remind you if you’ve left items behind through Left Behind alerts.
When it comes to safety, your phone can detect if an unknown Pixel Tag is traveling with you and then alert you.
See, it’s like the Android version of Apple’s AirTag.
Pixel Tag price and release date
The new Google Pixel Tag won’t launch until November 11, but you’ll be able to buy single units for $29 or a 4-pack for $99.
