Bitcoin (BTC) Price: Holds Near $79K as ETF Inflows Support Demand Maisie Morrison | usagoldmines.com

TLDR

  • Bitcoin trades at $78,788.45, down 1.93% over the past day.
  • BTC remains above its 20, 50, 100, and 200-day EMAs.
  • The 14-day RSI sits at 61.50, showing positive but cooling momentum.
  • Bitcoin ETFs saw $161.83 million in net inflows over 24 hours, per Lookonchain.
  • Open interest stands near $53 billion as traders watch the $80,000 resistance level.

Bitcoin price is trading at $78,788.45 as of early September 2026. That marks a drop of 1.93% from the previous day.

Despite the daily dip, Bitcoin remains above all four of its key exponential moving averages. This includes the 20-day, 50-day, 100-day, and 200-day EMAs on the daily chart.

The 20-day EMA sits at $76,715.73. The 50-day EMA is at $72,047.78, while the 100-day and 200-day EMAs stand at $70,254.03 and $72,739.62.

Traders are watching $80,000 as the next resistance level. A move above that price could open the door toward the $82,500 area.

What the RSI and Open Interest Show

Bitcoin’s 14-day relative strength index reads 61.50. That is below overbought territory but still above the 50 mark, which signals positive momentum.

The RSI has slipped from recent highs. This points to a cooling trend as Bitcoin consolidates below $80,000.

CoinGlass data shows Bitcoin’s open interest near $53 billion. Trading volume has also seen several spikes in recent weeks, pointing to active derivatives positioning.

ETF Inflows Continue to Support Price

On-chain analytics account Lookonchain posted updated Bitcoin ETF flow figures. The tweet read: “1D NetFlow: +2,038 $BTC (+$161.83M)” and “7D NetFlow: +11,093 $BTC (+$880.76M).”

The post shows Bitcoin ETFs added 2,038 BTC in a single day, worth $161.83 million. Over seven days, net inflows reached 11,093 BTC, totaling $880.76 million.

Lookonchain’s numbers point to steady demand for Bitcoin exchange-traded funds. This comes as BTC trades below the $80,000 resistance level.

Separate data from SoSoValue adds more detail to the picture. Bitcoin spot ETFs recorded $174.60 million in inflows on September 4.

Total net assets across Bitcoin spot ETFs reached $101.25 billion, according to SoSoValue. Cumulative net inflows since launch now stand at $55.62 billion.

The two data sources cover different dates but tell a similar story. Both show continued ETF demand while Bitcoin holds below its key resistance level.

For now, $80,000 remains the level traders are watching most closely. The 20-day EMA at $76,715 is seen as the first line of support below current prices.

A break below that EMA could bring the $72,739 area back into focus. A move above $80,000, meanwhile, would put the $82,500 zone in sight.
