Asus recently unveiled its latest gaming headset, the ROG Kithara, which is uniquely aimed at audiophiles. The wired headset uses specially adapted 100mm planar magnetic drivers from HiFiMan, which provide a frequency range of 8Hz to 55kHz with low distortion. This is tech that’s normally reserved for expensive audiophile headphones.
These drive elements, combined with an open-rear cover design, are intended to create a generous and natural soundscape that promises good separation between bass, midrange, and treble.
The ROG Kithara headset has a detachable full-band MEMS microphone for voice communication and a cable system with interchangeable connectors (4.4mm balanced, 3.5mm, and 6.3mm) plus a USB-C adapter, making it compatible with everything from PCs and gaming consoles to DACs and mobile devices.
The Aus ROG Kithara wired gaming headset for audiophiles is already available to US customers at a retail price of $299.99.
