One is Critical Role‘s disaster lesbian from The Mighty Nein. The other is… Avatar: The Last Airbender‘s disaster lesbian from the Southern Water Tribe. Just kidding… Or am I? We’ll never know. But one thing we do know is that Avatar: The Last Airbender‘s recently released images of adult Sokka from the upcoming movie, The Legend of Aang, have us seeing double. We only just got done watching Beauregard Lionett’s adventures on Prime Video’s Critical Role animated series, The Mighty Nein. And she’s still lurking in our minds as we turn to look at adult Sokka. Because, damn, these two could be twins. And honestly, we feel like that’s a compliment to both Beau and Sokka. The pair might not initially get along if they were to meet… but they would probably compliment one another on their good looks. And they could lament on their tragic adventures in dating. Take a look at how close The Mighty Nein‘s Beau looks to Avatar: The Last Airbender‘s Sokka below.
Okay, you see it. I know you see it. Beau and Sokka have the same blue eyes, the same lesbian desire to wear a choker, the same blue robes, the EXACT same hair, and a very well-matched smirk. They are literally dead-ringers for one another. They are even both wearing fingerless gloves. Sokka just needs to drop one little bang in front of his eye, and we couldn’t tell them apart.
Honestly, this is Critical Role and Avatar: The Last Airbender mash-up we WANT to see. Sokka and Beau have the exact same luck with the ladies and penchant for snark and sass. They are also both super smart and deserve credit for their quick thinking. If they were on a team/party together, Sokka might annoy Beau by trying to be overly charming, and Beau’s bristly ways might make Sokka grouchy, but eventually, they’d find they both had a soft heart in common. Honestly, Sokka has a lot of training with bristly, he does have to put up with Zuko. Plus, Sokka could tell Beau, “My girlfriend turned into the moon.” And she’d totally empathize.
Anyway, we can’t wait to see how Avatar: The Last Airbender‘s adult Sokka continues to resemble The Mighty Nein‘s Beau once we see him in action in The Legend of Aang. That will be released in theaters in October. The Mighty Nein is streaming now on Prime Video.
