This new partnership, paid entirely in USDC, marks a significant step for the cryptocurrency exchange. It also takes on rival Crypto.com, which has had a longstanding partnership with Formula One.
The value of the deal wasn’t disclosed. However, Coinbase is racing ahead with its ambitions to be a key player.
Coinbase Sponsors Aston Martin F1, Debuts on AMR25
The deal kicks off just as Aston Martin’s AMR25 racing car made its debut on February 12. While the full look of the car won’t be revealed until February 18, one thing is already clear: the Coinbase logo will be prominently displayed on the rear wing of the AMR25. The logos will also appear on the racing suits of drivers Fernando Alonso and Lance Stroll, helping to further cement Coinbase’s presence on the global stage.
As part of the partnership, Aston Martin Aramco will explore new ways to engage fans, possibly through on-chain experiences. The press release hints at the use of Base, Coinbase’s Ethereum Layer 2 network, to bring innovative fan engagement tools to the forefront.
This will be a season to remember.

Coinbase’s sponsorship is particularly noteworthy as it comes at the expense of Crypto.com, which has been a Formula One partner since 2021. Recently, Crypto.com extended its deal with F1 through 2030, making it one of the sport’s longest-standing sponsors.
