Dave Bautista Launches CAT ASSASSIN Franchise, And It’s Just What the Title Suggests Eric Diaz | usagoldmines.com

Dave Bautista knows a thing or two about anthropomorphic animals with weapons, having worked alongside Rocket Raccoon in the Guardians of the Galaxy franchise. Soon, he’ll be trading raccoons with guns for kitty cats with guns. According to a report from IGN, the wrestler-turned-actor is developing a series called Cat Assassin. And yes, it’s about (you guessed it) a cat who is an assassin. Bautista’s production company, Dogbone Entertainment, is developing Steve Lerner’s Cat Assassin story for a new franchise. It will include an animated series, video games, and publishing. Titan1Studios will work on this franchise. Here’s the official synopsis for the series:

Set in a gritty neo-noir world inhabited by anthropomorphized cats of all types, Cat Assassin centers on Hugh, a highly skilled assassin caught between various cartels and power brokers in a dark and twisted city. The franchise promises a unique blend of humor, action, and stealth.

In a statement, Bautista said, “It’s been a pleasure collaborating with Titan1Studios on Cat Assassin. Their ability to build worlds through animation has been so impressive, and they’ve created a truly unique world in this game that I can’t wait to share with players.” Steve Lerner, who created Cat Assassin, is the writer behind the Annapurna Interactive game Stray. We just want to know, if this world has feline assassins, does it have anthropomorphic dogs as mercenaries? What about bunny rabbits as hit men? There really should be, right?

There’s no release date yet for anything in this Cat Assassin franchise, and we don’t know if a movie, series, comic book, or a game will come first. We’re leaning toward game first, as Titan1Studios released a statement already, saying Cat Assassin will contain “The immersive gameplay of Assassin’s Creed, the tactical espionage of Splinter Cell, the immersive feline agility of Stray, and the fluid combat of Sifu.” We eagerly await to see how all of this comes together.
