“This summer, everything will become clear.” That’s the tagline for Steven Spielberg’s next big budget blockbuster, Disclosure Day. After the film’s latest, intense trailer we have a clearer understanding what that means. The sci-fi film will see powerful forces doing everything they can to keep a world-changing secret from getting out after decades. But there might be no way to stop the truth anymore, because our alien visitors seem just as ready to announce their arrival as some humans are to tell the public everything.
The film stars Emily Blunt (A Quiet Place), Josh O’Connor (Wake Up Dead Man), Colin Firth (The King’s Speech), Eve Hewson (Bad Sisters), and Colman Domingo (Sing Sing). Decent cast. DECENT. The thriller also marks the latest collaboration between director Steven Spielberg, who also developed the story, and screenwriter David Koepp. The two have previously partnered for Jurassic Park, The Lost World, War of the Worlds, and Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull.
Oh, yeah, some guy named John Williams also came out of retirement to score the film. I think he’s worked with Spielberg before, too…
As for what we can expect, the film’s official synopsis confirms what this trailer teased. From Universal Pictures:

Ten years ago? Yes, I’d probably would have been scared to find out aliens actually exist? Now? BEAM ME UP. And also invite this cast I’d like to hang out with all of them
I doubt that will happen, but we’ll all get to spend a couple hours with them soon enough. Disclosure Day will reveal the truth when it arrives in theaters this summer on June 12, 2026.
