On Tuesday, Amber Bella, former CMO of Blade of God X (BoGX), took to X, formerly Twitter, with a thread of tweets where she accused the game’s founder, Tnise Liu Yang, and the Web2 development team of mismanaging funds, manipulating reward, and cutting off the Web3 community that initially funded the project.
The Blade of God X (BoGX), a Void Labs-backed blockchain-powered action RPG, may not be a thing if it never received support from top crypto investors convinced the team would always keep the Web3 community a priority.
Unfortunately, they have been proven wrong. Even though the game raised millions from these top crypto investors, it is now under public scrutiny following some revelations that came from a public fallout between its core teams.
“I must now confront the painful truth: this project has failed to deliver on the promises to the community,” Bella wrote. She also claims she never handled BoGX funds herself.
That job was left to Liu Yang, whose “experience and character as a 10-year entrepreneur” made her think he was trustworthy enough to do it.

According to Bella, things started to get really weird in October 2024 during the launch of BoGX’s Ethereal NFT collection, which promised exclusive staking rights and gameplay benefits.

The NFTs gave holders the ability to use in-game AI agents as “mining machines”, which subsequently allowed them to participate in token generation.
There was a lot of funding coming from Web3 sources at that point, but BoGX founder Tnise’s development team was more focused on updating its Web2 features right before the mint, which caused the webpage to go down for two hours.
Things went downhill from there. Bella claimed that was the beginning of internal disputes over excessive monetization during the third test and the Web2 team’s wholesale refusal to accommodate Web3 holder benefits.
“We proposed numerous community activities and in-game privileges, all of which were systematically rejected,” Bella claimed.
She decided her ethical boundaries had been crossed when her Web3 team, who had been working diligently every day to improve player benefits and experiences during the third test, discovered that the Web2 team was using their own accounts to compete on the game leaderboards and claim cash prizes that should have gone to actual players.
They hid this from the Web3 team entirely and even reportedly denied it at first upon confrontation. They only removed the accounts after Bella and her team presented evidence showing that the accounts were linked to their personal wallets.
This is a direct betrayal of the project’s primary funders, as BoGX was touted as a hybrid action RPG that merged blockchain mechanics with advanced AI. That narrative earned backing from some of the biggest names in the crypto investment space, including OKX Ventures, Delphi Ventures, BreederDAO, and Eden Holdings.
The project raised $6 million in funding last May and was promoted as a leading example of “play-to-train” innovation in Web3 gaming.
In the month that followed, Bella said BoGX’s founder decided to sideline Web3 completely, which led to her team getting “delayed payments” and then eventually, “no payments,” putting financial strain on the professionals who had dedicated months to the project and turned down other offers to work on it.
“When I first noticed signs that Tnise was attempting to abandon the Web3 side of the project, I tried to communicate with him about properly liquidating Web3 assets,” Bella revealed in her tweets.
However, when she requested that Tnise refund all sold NFTs, properly address the Web3 community, and return the in-game purchases made by Web3 users during the third test, she discovered he had blocked her from all personal communication channels without prior notice.
“This happened as I was attempting to send him a specific proposal about responsibly settling the Web3 side if he insisted on only developing his Web2 side,” she wrote.

Bella plans to reimburse NFT holders from personal purse
The ex-CMO has announced that she will use her 24.2 ETH from her personal stash as partial compensation to be made via “ARB transfers,” based on an end-of-March snapshot of NFT holders.
Bella ended her write-up by addressing Liu Yang directly. “You’ve abandoned the project without explanation or basic settlement,” she wrote. “The Web3 community deserves better than promises that evaporate once funding is secured.”
Void Labs and Tnise Liu Yang are yet to comment publicly on the allegations. Meanwhile, Blade of God X remains available for early access on the Epic Games Store.
The game is a blend of dark Nordic themes and “Souls-like” combat mechanics and supports some optional blockchain features through Immutable X and Ethereum Virtual Machine chains.
