GEN V Takes Marie Moreau’s Powers to Shocking New Heights That Rival Homelander Tai Gooden | usagoldmines.com

Episode five of Gen V is a major turning point for The Boys universe. All season, Cipher has been testing the limits of Marie’s hemokinesis, insisting that she’s perhaps the most powerful supe to ever live. And until now, she seriously doubted his claims because, well, he’s absolutely insane. Cipher may be a man full of secrets, lies, and general BS, but he’s telling the truth about Marie. Gen V season two’s fifth episode puts Marie’s powers beyond what Homelander can imagine. 

In the episode, we discover that Cipher and Sister Sage are in cahoots to make Marie the most powerful supe. While Sage is the current CEO of Vought and supposedly Homelander’s right hand woman, she is actually trying to pull a fast one on them all. Sage and Cipher want to use Marie in some way. But they need to unlock the full potential of her powers before Homelander gets wind of what they are doing. And they are basically turning Elmira into another Project Odessa testing location. Marie, Jordan, and Emma end up locked up there once again after they stage a (very stupid) mission to rescue Cate.

She ended up there after trying to pull a fast one on Cipher in the previous episode. Cipher takes Marie to a cell and reveals that her long-lost sister, Annabeth, is being held captive. This ignites Marie to want to reach her powers’ full potential so she can kill Cipher. Cate is able to free herself and the others using her still-warped powers; however, Jordan rightly points out that there are no guards attempting to stop them. It does indeed seem to be a trap.

They get to Annabeth’s cell to discover that she’s dead from a wound in her throat. Marie zones in and begins to bleed from her nose, as does everyone around her. Marie not only heals Annabeth’s wound but brings her back from the dead. It is a wild way to end the episode for sure. But it proves that Cipher’s methods with Marie and his beliefs about her are correct. It remains to be seen if they escape and how in the world Marie will be able to explain all of this to her long-lost sister. But, with Marie becoming more powerful than Homelander, it is clear that she could play a major role in taking down the world’s worst supe for good.
