Game developer Sucker Punch Productions revealed Ghost of Yotei will be released on 2nd October and will launch on PlayStation 5. The firm also noted that pre-orders of the game will start on 2nd May.
The gaming company also released its latest trailer for Ghost of Yotei, “The Onyro’s List.” The trailer teases Atsu’s quest for vengeance but gives more insight into who she is hunting down – a gang of outlaws known as the Yoteii Six.

Sucker Punch described how Atsu survived after outlaws killed her family and left her for dead while pinned to a burning ginkgo tree outside her home. According to the trailer, Atsu learned to fight, kill, and hunt after years away. The game developer added that she returned to her home with a list of six names, including The Snake, The Oni, The Kitsune, The Spider, The Dragon, and Lord Saito.
The company noted that Atsu hunts down the Yotei Six to avenge her family, armed with the same katana used to pin her to the burning tree all those years back. The trailer also highlights that Atsu will find there’s more to her journey than just revenge, despite her story beginning with a vengeance.
Sucker Punch said that today’s trailer is just a small taste of what players can expect on the game’s release. The firm previously mentioned that it would ensure the game has a less repetitive open world than its predecessor, Ghost of Tsushima.
“It’s been nearly five years since we shipped Ghost of Tsushima, and in that time, we’ve been hard at work making Ghost of Yotei something special. While the stories are unrelated, it’s important to us to make this a worthy follow-up to Jin’s journey, and we can’t wait for you to experience Atsu’s quest for vengeance later this year.”
The game developer revealed that pre-ordering of Ghost of Yoter will begin next week, starting on 2nd May at 10:00 AM ET. The game will let users choose between multiple different editions, including the Collector’s Edition.

The company also assures those who do pre-order will receive a unique in-game mask, regardless of which edition you choose. Those who pre-order will also get a set of seven PSN avatars featuring the concept art of Atsu and each member of the Yotei Six at launch.

Sucker Punch revealed the standard edition of Ghost of Yotei will retail for 69.99 / 79.99 euros. The firm also said this edition will be available at certain retailers or via the PlayStation Store.
The gaming company added that a Digital Deluxe Edition of Ghost of Yotei will be available for 79.99 / 89.99 euros. The firm also said that this edition will have the game itself, some bonuses such as The Snake’s armor set, and an alternate dye for a player’s starting armor.
Sucker Punch noted that the Digital Deluxe Edition will come with a unique horse color and unique saddle dye, as well as an in-game Charm, gold Sword Kit, and an early unlock of Traveler’s Maps. The company argued that it would help players find statues worldwide, which, in turn, would be used to upgrade their skills.
The gaming developer acknowledged that it’s also releasing a Ghost of Yotei Collector’s Edition. The firm has yet to reveal pricing for this edition but indicated it will include all the pre-order bonuses, all in-game items from the Digital Deluxe Edition, a digital copy of the game, and a replica display edition of Atsu’s Ghost mask.
The edition will also include a replica of Atsu’s sash, complete with the names of all Yotei Six members, a replica of the Tsuba from Atsu’s katana, and a pouch of coins. The firm added that there will be instructions to play Zeni Hajiki, a game of skill players play throughout Ghost of Yotei. Sucker Punch also highlighted that an account for PlayStation Network will be required to redeem things such as digital items available via a voucher code.
