DC Comics has a long history of super pets. They even have a Legion of Super-Pets, led by none other than Krypto the Superdog. So it makes sense that DC would join forces with the Guide Dogs of America | Tender Loving Canines to change lives for those who are blind or visually impaired, along with veterans with PTSD or TBI, children with autism, and facility dogs for public institutions, through expertly trained service dogs. After a collaboration last year at SDCC, DC and GDA|TLC are now launching a yearlong partnership. This includes an adorable, DC-sponsored litter of future guide and service dog superheroes, each named after an iconic DC Comics hero. Below, you can meet Clark, Lois, Kara, Lobo, and of course, Krypto.

DC and GDA|TLC have an extraordinary opportunity to tell a powerful story together, one that unites DC’s iconic Super Heroes with an organization dedicated to creating life‑changing, four‑legged heroes. Working together spotlights a future where comic book heroism becomes real‑world action, reflected in extraordinary dogs whose bravery and service transform lives one step at a time. In a rare and meaningful departure from their standard naming conventions, GDA|TLC has allowed this DC-sponsored litter to be named after iconic DC characters. Introducing Krypto, Clark, Lois, Kara, and Lobo.
We hope these pups truly take after their namesakes. Well, except for maybe Lobo. That sounds potentially dangerous. After these adorable doggos graduate from puppy pre-kindergarten training, these future service‑dog heroes will become trusted canine partners to people in need. They’ll move into the homes of skilled volunteers who continue to transform these Golden Labrador crosses into loyal companions.
DC Comics’ Anne DePies said in a statement, “At DC, we’re known for telling stories about super heroes. But this collaboration gives us the opportunity to share a different kind of story. One rooted in real-world heroism.” Fans can follow the DC pups at DC.com/pups as their training unfolds throughout the year, and even meet them in person in July at Comic-Con in San Diego.
