It’s time to grab some White Castle and get ready for more absurdity and laughter. The Hollywood Reporter confirmed that Harold & Kumar 4 is in the works. This is certainly not news that we saw coming in any way. The last film starring the stoner buddies was back in 2011 with A Very Harold & Kumar 3D Christmas, which ended with them reuniting and firing up one after settling out their love lives, among other things. (That’s putting it simple for brevity’s sake.) Stars John Cho and Kal Penn are expected to reprise their infamous roles in this upcoming Harold & Kumar sequel.
The original film’s writers Jon Hurwitz and Hayden Schlossberg are penning the script for Harold & Kumar 4. Mandate Pictures, which is under Lionsgate, will produce this new installment and maybe, just maybe, Neil Patrick Harris will return as well. No actors are signed on to the project at this time; however, the writers of Harold & Kumar 4 are hype.
“We’re fired up to bring Harold and Kumar back in a return to the unapologetically R-rated, smoke-filled chaos that started it all,” Hurwitz and Schlossberg said. “It’s high time they puff and pass their wisdom onto a new generation. Just don’t tell their kids.”
It will be interesting to see how much they have changed and stayed the same in this sequel. One thing is for sure, though. We could all use some wacky adventures and laughter right now.
