During her speech, Harris said: “We will invest in biomanufacturing and aerospace, remain dominant in AI and quantum computing, blockchain, and other emerging technologies.” She emphasized the need to not only invent these technologies but also to build them here in the United States. This, she said, would create jobs and ensure that American workers are part of the next wave of technological breakthroughs.
Harris pointed out that the U.S. is in a race with other countries, particularly China, to lead in future industries. “We want to make sure America, not China, wins the competition for the 21st century,” she stated. In other words, Harris believes the U.S. should take the bull by the horns when it comes to developing and leading in tech innovation.
