Marvel fans who just so happened to be casually scrolling YouTube today were met with an unexpected surprise. As of about six hours ago at the time of posting, Marvel has officially launched a live countdown to Doomsday. As we all know, Avengers: Doomsday is still a whopping eleven months away. That is one loooong countdown. Nevertheless, the excitement is bubbling. If you care to join the thousands of others who are closely watching the seconds dwindle down, check out the monstrous countdown below.
The livestream appeared amid the slew of teaser trailers that have dropped over the last few week. We first see Chris Evans return to haunt the narrative as Steve Rogers; next up is Thor gearing up for battle; last (and arguably the most exciting), we get a sneak peak of the X-Men’s official fusion into the MCU. The fourth trailer, which dropped earlier today, has our favorite Wakandans collide with Marvel’s first family as M’Baku introduces himself to none other than Ben “The Thing” Grimm. With more and more to chew on, we are absolutely, thoroughly, and utterly psyched.
Given the sheer magnitude of this incredulously long countdown, it definitely raises some questions. Will we see anything interesting interrupt the stream? Any teasers? Easter eggs, perhaps? Or will it simply be exactly what it appears to be: JUST a countdown? Honestly, who knows. I suppose only time will tell. Don’t worry, you can count on us to keep you all in the loop if anything happens.
Even though the unexpected launch of this countdown has got our Spidey senses going haywire, one thing is for sure. The anticipation for Doomsday is intoxicating. Being this close to seeing the Avengers, X-Men, and Fantastic Four all in one place has got us all in a chokehold. And best believe that December 18, we will be sat.
