Grab your goggles, ’cause this summer is bringing more Minion madness. After a groovy march of mischief in the 70’s, Gru and the gang are back, baby. And we now have word of their next villainous plan. While the Seahawks and Patriots battled it out on the field for this year’s Super Bowl, Universal Pictures and Illumination dropped the first trailer for Minions 3, also known as Minions & Monsters. As you would probably expect, it’s nothing short of despicable. See what ridiculous shenanigans Kevin, Stuart, and Bob get up to next as they meet the Universal Monsters and other beings, including Cthulhu, The Mummy, and More. Minions 3/Minions & Monsters is giving the people what they want: more fabulous yellow-blob fun… and more monsters? Yes, we guess the Minons are making a monster movie… and for that they need monsters. And monsters, it turns out, is one thing Universal Pictures and Illumination have in spades. Honestly, we are obsessed with this power-combo between Minions and Monsters.

Minions: Rise of Gru saw the gang forge some unlikely partnerships. Gru sparks a bond with Wild Knuckles, supervillain and former leader of the Vicious 6. With the world’s most dangerous villains hot on their tails, the newfound duo must work together to take down the supervillain group. In the final battle, the Minions use the power of the Zodiac Stone to turn into animal monsters and defeat the nefarious six for good. With an unbreakable bond, Gru rehires the Minions and enlists Dr. Nefario as his personal mad scientist. It was a delightful adventure, and we bet Minions 3/Minions & Monsters will be just as fabulous, and probably even more so.
The chronicles of three banana-obsessed, overall-wearing yellow creatures may not be the most serious topic ever, but who cares? It’s great to have an honest, hearty laugh from time to time. A dumb fart joke or two never hurt anyone… and neither did Minions paling around with monsters.
