Netflix’s ‘Reimagined’ SESAME STREET Launches November 10 After Streamer Saved the Show Michael Walsh | usagoldmines.com

Last year HBO and Max announced it was ending its partnership with Sesame Street. Fortunately, Big Bird, Elmo, and the rest of their friends didn’t have to wait long to find a new streaming home. Earlier this year, Netflix announced it would produce new episodes of the iconic kids’ show and bring us all more Sesame Street. Now we’re close enough to seeing them that even little kids can—ah ah ah—count down the days until the show’s Netflix premiere. Netflix has shared a new trailer for Sesame Street‘s 56th season ahead of its November 10 debut.

Sunny days are coming to Netflix and Netflix Jr. on Monday, November 10. But the show will be a little bit different than what adults and kids alike are used to. Netflix says the “freshly reimagined” Sesame Street” is going to “invite children to play along in new ways, bring viewers inside the world’s most famous brownstone for the first time, and feature celebrity guests, original music, engaging animation, and, as always, lots of laughter. That will include “interactive, immersive, and visually engaging 11-minute stories that put young viewers at the center of the action.” Netflix also says Sesame Street will boast “more comedy and playability.”

Executive Producer Sal Perez talked about how Sesame Street will be both different and the same from previous years now that it’s on Netflix. “Season 56 reimagines Sesame Street, inviting children into the action and bringing them hand-in-hand through high-stakes stories, powerful learning moments, and laugh-out-loud surprises,” said Perez in a statement. “And, as always, Sesame Street’s curriculum is designed to meet children’s most pressing needs — so our focus this season is on kindness and compassion, something we can all use more of today.”

Netflix will release the first season of its take on Sesame Street in three-volume installments. NASCAR champ Bubba Wallace will appear in the first volume.

A new streaming home? And “freshly reimagined?” Sure. But our bet is Sesame Street will still be the show we’ve known and love for its first 55 seasons.
