Ahoy Mateys! One Piece season two is sailing onto our screens this March. But, as we know, the incredible anime adaptation has already been renewed for season three. And so, there is much to celebrate RIGHT NOW. Because One Piece season three has officially begun production, confirming that we’ll have a continuous stream of our favorite series. And, if that weren’t enough, One Piece season three has also confirmed that FOUR new actors/characters have been promoted to series regulars. And that will give die-hard fans a lot to theorize about when it comes to the story of One Piece season three. Mikaela Hoover (Chopper), Joe Manganiello (Mr. 0), Lera Abova (Miss All Sunday), and Sendhil Ramamurthy (Nefartari Cobra) will become One Piece regulars for season three of the show, and we couldn’t feel more excited. In addition, One Piece season three is absolutely teasing a journey to the kingdom of Alabasta. Take a look below at everything we’ve learned.
One Piece Season 3 Heads to Alabasta as Production Starts
If we didn’t suspect that One Piece season three would head into the fan-favorite Alabasta arc before, this new production start image from the series clinches it. Alabasta is a desert kingdom, after all. In this major One Piece story, our favorite Straw Hat Pirates find themselves trying to prevent war. We won’t spoil what this arc entails, but suffice to say there are laughs, battles, and HEARTBREAKS galore. But if there’s any television show we trust to do a complicated arc justice, it’s Netflix’s live-action One Piece.
We did want to note that the episode title shown in the image above, “Where There’s Smoke,” could hint at the specific moment in One Piece where Luffy first reunites with Ace during an encounter with Smoker (“Where there’s Smoker, there’s Fire Fist Ace”). We do see Ace’s dagger there in the sand with the script. But we’ll have to wait to know for sure what it all means.
4 Characters Become Series Regulars on One Piece Season 3
As mentioned, Mikaela Hoover (Chopper), Joe Manganiello (Mr. 0), Lera Abova (Miss All Sunday), and Sendhil Ramamurthy (Nefartari Cobra) have all become One Piece series regulars in season three of the show. We’re excited to see what these characters will do in season two and how they will grow into their main character roles in season three.
The original Straw Hat crew, Iñaki Godoy (Monkey D. Luffy), Mackenyu (Zoro), Emily Rudd (Nami), Jacob Romero (Usopp) and Taz Skylar (Sanji) will also all return for season three of One Piece. Charithra Chandran (Miss Wednesday), Cole Escola (Bon Clay), and Xolo Maridueña (Portgas D. Ace) also join the pirate fun.
