Players stepped into the arena as the trailer launched earlier this month, announcing that the battle-focused game would be here sometime in April. Now, that date is official and fast approaching. Pokémon Champions brings the core Pokémon battle experience to the forefront. Players can build their roster and face off against opponents in three different battle modes: ranked, casual, and private. The game lands on the Nintendo Switch system on April 8 and on mobile devices later this year.
Along with announcing the official launch date, The Pokémon Company revealed some special bundles that will be available at launch. The Pokémon Champions X Starter Pack bundle will be available on April 8 on the Nintendo eShop. Nintendo Switch 2 players can look forward to a free update boosting visual performance.
Pokémon Champions is a strategy game where players can face off with different Pokémon types, abilities, and move selections. Trainers build their team by either recruiting Pokémon from within the game or pulling in past friends from Pokémon HOME. The appearance of several Mega‑Evolved Pokémon—such as Mega Meganium, Mega Emboar, and Mega Feraligatr—will introduce new abilities to the game. Those abilities include Mega Sol, Mold Breaker, and Dragonize converts, respectively.
Pokémon Champions will be available to play on Nintendo Switch, iOS, and Android. Just less than a month away, Pokémon fans can step into the arena like never before. The game makes its official debut even earlier, arriving at the Indianapolis Regional Championships from May 29 to May 31 for competitive play. It then heads to the Nintendo Switch on April 8.
