- Analysts set average price target at $46.82, suggesting 34% potential gain from current levels
Super Micro Computer shares rose 3% after the company rolled out new AI infrastructure systems built around Nvidia technology. The announcement came at the Supercomputing Conference in St. Louis.
Super Micro Computer, Inc., SMCI
The systems represent a shift toward complete, ready-to-use AI solutions. Businesses can now deploy AI infrastructure without assembling components from multiple vendors.
Each AI factory cluster combines Supermicro’s servers with Nvidia’s Blackwell GPUs and Spectrum-X networking. The packages include Nvidia’s full software suite for AI development.
CEO Charles Liang emphasized democratizing AI access. He wants companies beyond Silicon Valley tech giants to deploy AI at scale.
Three Configuration Options Available
Supermicro offers small, medium, and large cluster sizes. The entry-level configuration contains 4 nodes with 32 GPUs.
Mid-range systems scale to 8 nodes. The top-tier option delivers 32 nodes packed with 256 GPUs.
Every system undergoes testing at Supermicro’s global facilities before shipping. The San Jose plant handles multi-rack cluster validation up to L12 level.
Orders are open now for systems with RTX PRO 6000 Blackwell Server Edition or HGX B200 GPUs. All configurations arrive with integrated cabling and networking components.
The software bundle includes Nvidia AI Enterprise, Omniverse, and Run:ai platforms. Companies can start generating AI tokens immediately after installation.
Supermicro designed these systems for traditional data centers. Power, cooling, and space constraints shaped the engineering approach.
Nvidia Strengthens Position in AI Hardware
This partnership extends Nvidia’s reach in enterprise AI infrastructure. Dell expanded its AI factory offerings with Nvidia chips just days earlier.
Arm Holdings revealed plans to integrate NVLink Fusion into its Neoverse platform. The collaboration deepens ties between the two chipmakers.
These moves position Nvidia at the center of AI hardware development. Partners are building complete ecosystems around Nvidia’s GPU architecture.
Liang highlighted the GB300 NVL72 and HGX B300 platforms. He credited them with faster deployment times for large-scale AI customers.
Two Distinct System Types
The RTX PRO 6000 systems handle multiple workload types. They support AI inference, enterprise HPC, and graphics rendering on shared infrastructure.
These clusters use 4U and 5U PCIe GPU systems. Each node contains 8 GPUs in a 2-8-5-200 configuration for CPU, GPU, NIC, and bandwidth.
The HGX B200 configurations focus on AI training and fine-tuning. They leverage NVLink technology for high-speed GPU communication.
These systems come in 10U modular GPU platforms. Each node packs an 8-GPU HGX B200 setup optimized for AI workloads.
Analyst Outlook
Wall Street rates SMCI as a Hold based on 12 analyst recommendations. Five analysts recommend buying, five suggest holding, and two advise selling.
The consensus price target stands at $46.82 per share. This represents approximately 34% upside from recent trading levels.
Year-to-date, SMCI stock has climbed over 14.5%. The company is shipping AI factory systems in 4-node, 8-node, and 32-node configurations now.
