Captain America: Brave New World was heavily reshot and many of its elements changed from the original concepts for the final cut. In the initial development and later reshoots, many Marvel Comics characters were removed early on, including some who got the boot before filming began. Other characters actually shot sequences that sadly ended up on the cutting room floor. Here are four prominent Marvel Comics characters who were cut from the final version of Captain America: Brave New World.
Elijah Richardson/Eli Bradley as Patriot

Actor Elijah Richardson had a small part in The Falcon and the Winter Soldier as Eli Bradley, the grandson of Isaiah Bradley, the “secret” Captain America. Marvel Comics fans know that young Eli eventually gets a blood transfusion from his grandfather and becomes a super soldier as well as a founding Young Avengers member, codenamed Patriot. Fans expected him to appear in Brave New World, setting up a Young Avengers project. Sadly, despite the writers of the film toying with the idea, they cut him from the script early. Marvel cut him out for not having enough to do in a crowded film. We don’t disagree with them there, but we’d still love to see Eli Bradley show up somewhere soon. Preferably, in the long-awaited Young Avengers movie or series.
Rosa Salazar as Diamondback

Diamondback, real name Rachel Leighton, is a prominent member of the Serpent Society in the comics, and goes back and forth between enemy and ally of Captain America. A trained gymnast who could expertly throw diamond tips, Diamondback was originally a significant part of Brave New World but her role got cut. Rosa Salazar (Brand New Cherry Flavor) was cast and shot several scenes for the film, which presumably includes the act one fight with Sam Wilson. But then, Marvel reimagined the Serpent Society for the film and cut all of Salazar’s scenes. This is despite McDonald’s Happy Meal toys of Diamondback making it out into the wild last summer. As someone who was a long-time love interest for Steve Rogers, we hope Diamondback appears somewhere at some point.
Seth Rollins as Unknown Serpent Society Member

Another member of the Serpent Society who was cut from Brave New World was one played by WWE star Seth Rollins. It’s unclear which member he was going to play, but speculation runs rampant that it was going to be Copperhead, Cobra, or Constrictor. Rollins shot all his scenes, but as mentioned previously with Diamondback, the filmmakers rethought the Serpent Society for the reshot film. The Serpent Society in the final cut of Brave New World seemed far less snake-themed and more like just the name of a biker gang. Maybe an eventual revamp of the Serpent Society will give Rollins another chance to play a member.
Logan Kim/Amadeus Cho as the Totally Awesome Hulk

Chalk this one up to an “alleged” cast member/character. Rumors circulated recently that Ghostbusters: Afterlife star Logan Kim would appear as Amadeus Cho. The scientific prodigy becomes another gamma-powered green hero in the comics, known as the Totally Awesome Hulk. We’re not sure where Amadeus Cho would have fit into the film, but given how much Brave New World is a sequel to The Incredible Hulk, it makes sense Marvel at least considered using him at some point. We know Amadeus’ mother, Dr. Helen Choi, exists in the MCU, as she was in Avengers: Age of Ultron. A version of Amadeus Cho appears in Your Friendly Neighborhood Spider-Man, but that series takes place in another universe. Hopefully, one day Cho appears in the Sacred Timeline.
