That’s because that best-selling T.rex toy doesn’t just come out of a box; it comes out of an egg. Yes, it really hatches. That might sound awesome, but after seeing it first-hand, I can assure you it’s somehow even better than you think. Now, another beloved franchise with an upcoming new big-screen entry is getting in on the interactive fun. We are thrilled to exclusively reveal The Super Mario Galaxy Movie is cracking open its own version of the Primal Hatch toy to celebrate the arrival of Mario’s iconic dinosaur buddy in theaters. And before he makes his theatrical debut, Spin Master’s will let you bring him home with the new Hatchin’ Yoshi. Spin Master’s latest hatching dinosaur is a little more adorable than his T.rex counterpart. But this interactive toy is still just as fun as his roaring brethren. Here’s Hatchin’ Yoshi’s official description:
Hatch, play and display your very own interactive Yoshi, inspired by Nintendo and Illumination’s The Super Mario Galaxy Movie! Start the hatch by tapping the egg, knocking on it and rocking it back and forth. Once Yoshi is ready, you’ll start to see the egg rock side to side on its own. Listen closely for any noises and watch as the egg cracks and Yoshi pops out, greeting you with a “Yoshi!”
Once Yoshi (much to Toad’s chagrin) is fully free of his egg, he’s ready to play. You can then “gently pat his head or touch his nose to play with him.” You can also talk with Hatchin’ Yoshi by pushing down on his shell. When you speak to him, he’ll talk back.
You won’t have to wait for The Super Mario Galaxy Movie to hit theaters to bring home your own dino pal. While the film arrives on April 1, Hatchin’ Yoshi ($59.99) is arriving early. You can preorder yours starting February 15. It will then launch on Walmart.com on the 20th, before hitting Walmart stores and other major retailers on March 21st.
