This Outlook trick solves email overload | usagoldmines.com

Searching through my Outlook inbox can take a whole lot of time especially when I’m looking for specific emails or emails that have specific conditions. That’s why I set up rules to automatically sort my emails when they arrive. I’ve set one up to sort emails which I’m Cc’d into to a separate folder for easier access. Here’s how to do that.

What to do:

  • In the Microsoft Outlook web app, create a folder called “I’m Ccd” underneath your inbox folder.
  • Now at the top, click the three dots on the right and select Rules > Manage rules.
  • Select Add a new rule. Give your rule a name like “I’m Ccd”. Under “Add a condition” select I’m on the Cc line and under “Add an action select Move to and select the folder you created before.
  • Now select Run the rule now.

You’ll now find that all the emails that you’ve been cc’d into will have moved to the folder you set up. Future emails that you’re cc’d into will also move to the same folder. Now when you’re looking for emails that you’re cc’d into you simply have to look in the folder.

That’s a wrap for this tip. If you want more tips and tricks delivered to your inbox each week be sure to subscribe to our PCWorld Try This newsletter.
