It’s no secret that Superman was a smashing success during its theatrical run this summer. We loved seeing our favorite righteous caped hero face off against the maniacal Lex Luthor in a cross-dimensional showdown. Oh, James Gunn, the gift that keeps on giving. One fun addition to the film was the adorable helper robots that stayed tucked away in Superman’s Fortress of Solitude. Now, I’m sure plenty of us wondered what it would be like to have one in our very own home. Well, wonder no longer. One YouTuber rose to the challenge, recreating her very own working Superman bot in real life. Honestly, we’re a little jealous.
Here’s a Look at the Incredible Design of the Superman Robot:
Over the duration of one month, YouTuber Kiara of Kiara’s Workshop designed and engineered her very own Superman robot. The build is fully automated, RC-controlled, and entirely 3D-printed. Plus, she did it all on a budget. We’ve gotta hand it to her, it’s pretty cool.
Just like its on-screen counterpart, the impressive animatronic blinks, moves its arms, turns its head, and so much more. The entire step-by-step process is up on YouTube. Though it didn’t come easy, it reaped a pretty phenomenal end result. Once the pieces were printed and assembled, Kiara layered on colors to perfectly replicate “Gary’s” electrifying shade of blue.
The creator shared her finished project on Instagram. The post attracted tons of attention, including a comment from none other than the brilliant mind himself, James Gunn. It read: “Whoa so cool!!” Props to you, Kiara.
Ahh, must be nice to have a working assistant robot in your own home. Some might even say it would be super (sorry, I had to at least once).
