Wednesday Addams and her adventures at Nevermore Academy aren’t coming to an end any time soon. According to The Hollywood Reporter, Wednesday scored a season three renewal at Netflix. Hopefully, it won’t take three years to get to the next round. We need our Wednesday fix, complete with cold stares and deadpan one-liners. In this same interview piece, there was also news that there’s a Wednesday spinoff series in the works as well. That is in the very early stages of development at this time.
It could be the Uncle Fester spinoff that was reportedly in the works a couple of years ago or another project altogether. Netflix is getting ready to wrap up one of its biggest shows, Stranger Things, so perhaps the streamer is looking to build a new Addams family universe.
Either way, we know we are absolutely getting season three of Wednesday, thanks to an early renewal. Depending on what goes down in the next couple of seasons, we could see more stories stemming from Wednesday’s characters in spinoffs. Uncle Fester is exciting but maybe we could get a prequel series diving into Morticia and Gomez’s time at Nevermore as well. The possibilities are endless, indeed. In the meantime, Wednesday season two will be back in two snaps on August 6.
