China is likely to be the guest of honor. According to reports, the country will send one of its top leaders, Ding Xuexiang, a close friend of President Xi Jinping. However, it is unclear whether Liang Wenfeng, the creator of DeepSeek, will join him.
On the other hand, the US is showing its strength by sending important leaders, including Vice President JD Vance, OpenAI CEO Sam Altman, and Google’s Sundar Pichai. This is as a way to defend itself.
India will not be left behind. India’s Prime Minister Narendra Modi has said he will attend this meeting. This will be the first time he attends an AI global summit.
Anticipated conversations in the global summit
There have been two earlier summits. The first one took place in the UK, and the second one was in South Korea. In the first gathering of the AI community at Bletchley House in November 2023 they committed to enhancing the positive aspects of AI and reducing the risks. Since then a lot has taken place. In other news, OpenAI is in DeepSeek’s territory, looking for ways to do business. In Tokyo, OpenAI made a deal with SoftBank, a major Japanese financial company, to provide AI services to businesses.
Altman went to South Korea for another deal. Altman said OpenAI will share its technology with KakaoTalk, the leading chat app in the country. He said, “We are particularly interested in AI and messaging. I think there is really a rich thing to explore there that can improve the experience a lot for users.”
Altman also made a visit to India. According to reports, Altman talked with the IT minister about the country’s plan to create an affordable AI system.
Next, Altman is planning to visit the United Arab Emirates to talk about raising money with an investor group in Abu Dhabi.
