Grandgear is gonna bring some big robot and kaiju action to theaters in the not-so-far future. Sony Pictures is behind this project, which has Godzilla Minus One director Takashi Yamazaki on the team as well as Bad Robot’s J.J. Abrams producing. The production company teased more information at CinemaCon 2026 for the Grandgear movie, including a February 18, 2028 release date as well as a short but very cool concept clip from the film.
It was a whole lotta mecha versus kaiju chaos in the streets, basically. And it certainly caught the attention of the crowd, even though it was a very short look. We are hype about what’s coming from Sony in the future, including a Bloodborne R-rated film.
