Galaxy Watch 4 Classic Updates Come to an End Kellen | usagoldmines.com

When Samsung introduced the Galaxy Watch 4 and Galaxy Watch 4 Classic in 2021, they arrived as a part of a major moment for Google’s Wear OS. These new watches would not only mark the return of Wear OS on Samsung watches, they were the first to showcase a re-launch of Google’s wearable platform that was co-developed between the two companies.

Today, after 5 years of updates, Samsung has pulled the plug on both, as they’ve reached end of life for support.

This morning, Samsung removed both the Galaxy Watch 4 and Galaxy Watch 4 Classic from their mobile security support site. These watches received updates at the end of June and then again in August, with the August security patch, but they aren’t expected to see any future updates.

The final builds for each are as follows:

  • Galaxy Watch 4: R865USQS2JZG3 (40mm) / R875USQS2JZG3 (44mm)
  • Galaxy Watch 4 Classic: R885USQS2JZG3 (42mm) / R895USQS2JZG3 (46mm)

If you are still hanging-on to one of these watches and are now considering an upgrade, Samsung will give you $50 if you trade it in.
