David Palmer, who pioneered Vodafone IoT blockchain, joins Telcoin Association as Strategic Telecom Advisor

LUGANO, SWITZERLAND, October 13, 2026 – The Telcoin Association, the independent Swiss Verein that governs Telcoin Network and TEL, today named David Palmer as its Strategic Telecom Advisor as Telcoin Network approaches mainnet later this year. Telcoin Network is a public blockchain validated exclusively by GSMA mobile network operators.
As Strategic Telecom Advisor, Palmer advises the Association on strategy, positioning, and value proposition development for Telcoin Network across mobile operators, mobile money providers, and the GSMA. His work centers on operator participation in the network, the application ecosystem built on it, and the network’s position within the GSMA. He has worked alongside the Association in this role over the past several months.
Mobile operators exploring blockchain face the same choice: launch a localized network of their own, adopt a public chain built for someone else, or run an enterprise chain with no real industry alignment behind it. Telcoin Network takes a different path: one industry standard, owned and governed by the operators who secure it. Validator onboarding with mobile operators is underway ahead of mainnet.

David has spent 25 years in telecom and the last decade bringing blockchain into it. He has been part of this work for months, and today we make it official.”
Palmer led blockchain exploration for Vodafone IoT, where he took the first IoT Web3 proof of concept and turned it into an MVP platform within a global operator; as a result, he co-founded Pairpoint, a Vodafone and Sumitomo venture. He holds multiple patents in telecom and blockchain, sits on the board of the Asia Web3 Alliance, and is the author of “The Business of the Metaverse: How Organisations Can Optimize the Opportunities of Web3 and AI.” He is a regular speaker on Fintech and Web3 at MWC and spoke at the GSMA’s Agentic AI Summit at MWC Barcelona in 2026.
