We’ve known since February that Grand Theft Auto VI is coming out this year on November 19th, but only for Xbox and PlayStation. In August, Rockstar released an exclusive sneak peek on Netflix with gameplay footage and narrative cutscenes. People are hyped, to say the least.
But what about the PC version? Last month, we ran a quick analysis and estimated a proper PC release for GTA 6 sometime in late 2027 or early 2028. Well, it seems we were off the mark by a tad. According to GamesBeat, the PC version of GTA 6 is slated for release in Q1 2027—much sooner than anyone realistically expected.

Take-Two
GamesBeat gathered the details from four industry insiders who are familiar with Rockstar’s plans and asked to remain anonymous so as not to jeopardize their business relationships. A spokesperson for Rockstar Games did not respond to GamesBeat’s request for comment.
If GTA 6 actually does release a PC version in Q1 2027, that will represent an unusually short gap between the console and PC releases for a Rockstar title. For comparison, GTA 5 released on consoles in September 2013 and followed on PC in April 2015, nearly 18 months later.
