With Ahsoka season two finally on the horizon and the Visions Presents anime series coming out soon, it’s a good time to be a Star Wars fan. And, it seems that a five-month-long filming process for a Star Wars series doesn’t kill a fan’s love for the franchise. While streaming his gameplay of Star Wars Battlefront 2, Ashoka star Eman Esfandi recreated Luke Skywalker’s “Rush” ability from the game. He said it was “the first move [he] learned in stunt training.”
Skywalker’s “rush” move is an in-game basic attack, upgradable with stat cards. Using the move, the character does an elaborate jump and spin with his lightsaber, which Esfandi imitated.
The first season of Ahsoka ended with a cliffhanger, which left plenty of room for more exploration of characters and iconic locations in the show’s second season. It was not wrapped up with a nice bow. The big bad guy, Grand Admiral Thrawn, escaped. With Anakin Skywalker watching over our small party of Jedi rebels as a Force ghost, there is still hope for the alliance in the next season. However, several of our heroes are still stranded on Peridea. At Star Wars Celebration 2025, Lucasfilm revealed that the second season of Ahsoka will keep the team battling enemies in two separate galaxies.
As of May, leading actress Rosario Dawson confirmed the second season would be coming out on Disney+ in “early 2027.” We have not heard anything since then, and 2027 is drawing ever closer. Hopefully there will be some great news soon. Until then we will keep this video of Eman Esfandi doing the Luke Skywalker “Rush” attack from Battlefront 2 on a loop.
