One second, I just gotta hike up my pants for this one… The kids are drinking the pickle juice on the TikTok! Last October, Dua Lipa inspired a social media frenzy of mixing diet soda with pickle juice. During the viral sensation, Claussen told fans if they showed enough interest it would release a new product called Just the Brine, which is exactly what it sounds like. And that’s what the company is now releasing. Claussen has announced it is celebrating our greenest (and drink-iest) of holidays, St. Patrick’s Day, with bottle of pickle juice that can double as both a mixer and a hangover cure.
Claussen says it’s “giving pickle lovers the ultimate way to ‘pickle’ by night and ‘unpickle’
by morning” with this juice. While those words wouldn’t normally mean anything, they will with Just the Brine. These limited-edition eight-ounce bottles come with just the brine (get it?!) and without any actual Claussen pickles.
What are you supposed to do with a bottle of just pickle juice? That’s between you and your god, but Claussen says its salty sour liquid is “perfect for adding a tangy kick as a mixer at night and serving as a next-day electrolyte boost in the morning.”
Alright. Alright.
If you really love pickles, weird food stuff, or have other issues you don’t want to share, you can grab Just the Brine beginning Friday, March 14. Six-packs will be available GoPuff in New York, Chicago, and Boston. Claussen chose those three locales because they go big on St. Patrick’s Day. Their citizens might also really enjoy something that is both a mixer and a hangover cure. It really streamlines the entire drinking cycle.
Those not celebrating in those cities can instead visit www.claussenjustthebrine.com. That’s where customers will have chance to get a duo pack. Don’t delay going to the website on Friday. They’ll only be available “while supplies last.”
That is unless they become a huge sensation online. With the kids these days, you can never tell if pickle juice will prove just a fad or become the defining food item of a generation. But no matter I can probably lower my pants back to normal now.
