Bitcoin-focused investment firm, Metaplanet has added Eric Trump to its strategic advisory board. Eric is the son of current US President, Donald Trump.
In a recent announcement, Metaplanet cited Eric’s expertise in real estate, finance, and brand development as reasons for his addition. The company noted that these experiences would help Metaplanet grow as a major player in the Bitcoin economy.
In addition, Metaplanet’s CEO Simon Gerovich said Eric’s support for Bitcoin made him a valuable addition. The company is working to become a leading Bitcoin Treasury firm, and they believe Eric’s network and influence will accelerate their vision.

Eric’s addition is part of Metaplanet’s broader plan to bring in high-profile figures to push for wider Bitcoin adoption. As expected, Eric’s addition had a positive impact on the company’s market presence. After the announcement, Metaplanet’s stock jumped nearly 18% on the Tokyo Stock Exchange, showing that investors responded positively to the news.
The Trump family have increased their presence in the crypto world in recent months. Both Trump parents, Eric and Melania, launched successful memecoins early this year. Eric, on his part, has played a role in the Trump family’s crypto project, World Liberty Financial, which has so far raised $550 million.
The 41-year-old businessman holds several cryptocurrencies in his portfolio, making him an active participant in the industry.

Metaplanet’s Bitcoin Holdings
Metaplanet already holds 3,050 Bitcoin, valued at around $4.1 billion. This massive holding places the investment firm as the 12th largest corporate holder of Bitcoin. The company’s ambition doesn’t stop at its current stack, as it aims to accumulate 10,000 BTC by 2025.
This appointment highlights Metaplanet’s ambition to become a major Bitcoin institution. It also signals growing ties between Bitcoin and prominent political figures, especially as the U.S. heads into another election season.
With Eric Trump now on board, many will be watching to see how his influence shapes Metaplanet’s Bitcoin strategy moving forward.
