Google isn’t the only Android phonemaker sending out updates this week. Samsung is pushing fresh September updates to the Galaxy Z Fold 8 and Galaxy Z Fold 8 Ultra that bring the September Android security patch.
As you may have guessed, these updates appear to be pretty minor and only include those new patches, at least according to Verizon. These foldables are already running One UI 9 and Android 17, so they aren’t a part of that big update that is hitting the Galaxy S26 series this week.
The updates will arrive on your Fold 8 and Fold 8 Ultra as builds F971USQU3AZI5 and F976USQU3AZI5, in that order. Again, these carry the September security patch and were approved for release on September 15. You should be able to pull these updates if you haven’t already.

To check for Samsung updates on your Galaxy smartphone, head into Settings>Software update>Download and install.
