Grayscale, one of the biggest names in crypto asset management, recently publicized their top tokens for 2025, and as expected, the list is making waves within the crypto community.Â
Grayscale’s list shows its focus on emerging trends like artificial intelligence (AI) and the Solana ecosystem. We saw several Solana tokens kick off in 2024, and Grayscale’s list hints at a potential explosion within the Solana ecosystem.
The 2025 Watchlist: What’s New?
Grayscale’s updated watchlist now includes six new tokens:
- Hyperliquid (HYPE): A high-performance Layer-1 (L1) network.
- Ethena (ENA): A DeFi application.
- Virtuals (VIRTUAL) and Grass (GRASS): AI-powered platforms.
- Jupiter (JUP) and Jito (JTO): DeFi apps tied to the Solana blockchain.
These tokens align with three major trends Grayscale is betting on for 2025:
- A more crypto-friendly regulatory environment in the U.S.
- Growth in decentralized AI.
- Rapid expansion of the Solana ecosystem.

Why Focus on AI and Solana?
There’s been a massive intersection between AI and blockchain in recent months. Several crypto projects are already working to integrate AI into decentralized systems. These integrations unlock the door for automation and innovation across several sectors of the market. So, the inclusion of AI projects is in Grayscale’s anticipation of a bigger integration within decentralized communities.Â

Solana offers fast transactions and low fees, making it a hub for investors and developers. Interestingly, Solana-based apps like Jupiter and Jito are some of the leading DeFi projects.Â
Jito, for example, has been particularly impressive. In November and December 2024, the staking pool reported over $100 million in monthly revenue from priority fees and tips, highlighting its strong growth.
