A great daily driver laptop doesn’t have to cost a fortune, and this HP OmniBook 5 is proof of that. Right now, B&H is selling it for just $699, a significant $200 drop off its original $899.

At this price, the 16-inch OmniBook 5 packs a punch. With an Intel Core Ultra 7 255U, 16GB of LPDDR5X RAM, and a 1TB SSD, this laptop boots quickly, loads apps even faster, and provides enough storage space for years of files and documents. That much RAM is the minimum we’d recommend for Windows 11, and that energy-efficient Core Ultra 7 CPU with the 59-watt-hour battery provides 8 to 10 hours of real-world usage on a single charge—enough to get you through a day and change.

Everything else is rather standard, including the 16-inch 1920×1200 IPS touchscreen, the 300 nits of brightness (not bright enough to impress), the port options (two USB-C, two USB-A, and HDMI 2.1), and the integrated Intel graphics (not good enough for gaming). It’s about what you’d expect in this laptop tier. The full-sized keyboard and Windows Hello webcam, on the other hand, are nice to have.
