The Boys final season will also serve as a de facto Supernatural reunion. Jared Padalecki and Misha Collins are getting in on the fun with Jensen Ackles and showrunner Eric Kripke. But while we’ve known that, we only just learned for sure who Padelicki is playing. We’re finally going to meet the former member of the Seven who used to sneak college girls into Vought Tower with Lamplighter, the speedster A-Train replaced, Mister Marathon.
Padalecki confirmed the casting rumor about himself during an appearance at the FACTS Convention in Belgium. (Which we first heard about at ComicBook.com.) He is playing Mister Marathon, a character referenced multiple times on the TV adaptation. He was the Seven’s speedster before A-Train took his spit. A-Train was also in the group four years longer than his predecessor. We’ll finally see the Flash-like Mister Marathon when Padelecki and Collins make their series debut in season five’s coming episodes.
The super fast Supe was a minor character in Garth Ennis’ comic series, where he died quickly during a failed rescue of a highjacked plane. Who will be looking for Mister Marathon after all these years? A show trailer revealed Homelander and Soldier Boy will come calling. We’re sure that will go just fine for Mister Marathon!
While we now know for sure who Padalecki is playing, we still don’t know Collins’ character just yet. But we know what to expect from both her and Mister Marathon. Kripke previously described both of the show’s new characters as “just such douchebags.” No wonder Homelander and Soldier Boy will want to meet with them.
Will Mister Marathon want to work with his old Seven leader again? Based on how things have gone for everyone else int he group, he should probably run away from the whole situation.
